Past Layouts
Here is a collection of Binded Souls past layouts. Click on the thumbnail for a fullsize view of the layout.

Version One featured Hugh Laurie and Sela Ward. The layout was pretty basic and looks as if I threw it together in minutes which is true. At the time I'd used the same layout for my personal site and I really wanted to change it so remodeled this. I wasn't happy with it and so it didn't stay up for very long particularly as I moved my collective to it's own domain, Binded Souls, away from Legal Affairs.

Version Two featured Alison Mack and George Eads. The blend on this took me quite a long time but it was never very good. I quite liked the text and brush effect on Binded Souls though so this layout stayed up a couple of months until I replaced it with version three.

Version Three featured Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry. I wanted to change version two and so started putting pictures together. The end result was ok but certainly not my best work so as soon as I felt that I could do better I replaced this version with version four.

Version Four featured Gary Sinese and Melina Kanakaredes. I wanted to change version three as I didn't really like it. I loved the header blend on this layout but it was a little large and I'd copied the style of it for my personal site so it was time for a change. Also, I preferred to create a new layout rather than make this one standards compliant.

Version Five featured Keira Knightly. I made this layout as I wanted to make my collective standards compliant. I'd seen this photoshoot sometime ago and it was so pretty I was pleased to finally be able to use it. Despite the fact that I'm not a pink person I quite liked this layout. I changed it in December after I was given a lovely header by my TFL Secret Santa, Jef.

Version Six featured Hugh Laurie and Sela Ward. The header was made for me by my TFL Secret Santa, Jef because my ship for House is House and Stacy. I loved the header but as always there came a time when I wanted to change the layout.

Version Seven featured stick people. I'd wanted to try something different and make the layout copyright free so I drew two stick people added together which makes Binded Souls. The idea came to me while I was doodling in a Computing lesson and I liked it so much the layout lasted nearly six months but as always there comes a time for a change.

Version Eight featured a globe with people represented around the outside. This was basically the theme to version seven but with a twist, the colour scheme was the same. This layout lasted a long time, certainly longer than intended because I was busy, however as soon as I got a free moment I moved on to version nine.

Version Nine featured a picture called atmoic. It's on the same theme as the previous two versions but much easier on the eyes. However, my testing on this wasn't exhaustive and when I got my new computer the resolution was different and I found that the navigation didn't display properly. Thus as soon as I could I changed the layout to version ten.

Version Ten featured photos I'd taken myself of the South Cliff Gardens in Scarborough. I quite liked this layout but the colour scheme was a big turn off for people. I knew the contrast wasn't great and I'd fiddled with that but the whole colour scheme needed to go according to website reviews I got. Thus to address points raised in the reviews I changed the layout to version eleven.

Version Eleven featured photos I'd taken myself of dolphins in Gibraltar. I liked this layout, blue is my favourite colour, and I kept it for quite a while. I really should note dates better, oh well I soon fancied a change and moved onto layout twelve.

Version Twelve featured pictures from the stock exchange. I liked this layout a fair bit, I really liked the header effects and it was easy on the eyes. I might have kept it longer but my Summer Santa gifted me with a new layout which because version thirteen.

Version Thirteen was made my my Summer Santa (Christine). It was a nice autumnal layout, and indeed lasted all autumn. I loved the colours on this they were so warm and the picture was gorgeous. However, I couldn't keep it any longer as my Secret Santa (2009) gifted me with a new layout for christmas.
